Judy Matuk, M.S.

Judy Matuk, M.S. is an independent consultant providing professional expertise, service, and guidance in the field of research compliance, with emphasis on human research protections. Prior to this position, she was a Senior Consultant for the HRP Consulting Group from January 2018-December 2021. 

Judy served as the Assistant Vice President for Research Compliance at Stony Brook University (SBU) in New York from May 1988-December 2017, responsible for regulatory compliance in research activities involving human subjects, animal subjects, recombinant and synthetic nucleic acid molecules, stem cells (2009), radioactive drugs (2014), and dual use research of concern (2015). She was additionally in charge of RCR training initiatives, research misconduct, investigator financial conflict of interest (FCOI), and Institutional COI as it relates to human research protections. She was the Institutional Official for Human Research Protections, the Deputy Institutional Official for Animal Welfare, and the Research Integrity Officer for the University. 

She was a peer reviewer/editor/contributor for the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) web-based training program from 2001-2021. In addition to having served on the Accreditation Council of Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs, Inc. (AAHRPP), Judy was a site visitor and team leader for that organization from 2010-2018. She received her M.S. in Behavioral Neuroscience from Northwestern University in 1986.
